Charlie the Lonesome Cougar (1967) Movie Description:
Directed by Disney veteran Winston Hibler, 1967's Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar is an animal adventure featuring an orphaned cougar who wanders into a logging camp in the Northwoods where he's taken in by Jess Bradley. Charlie matures in the camp, playing with a black bear cub and amusing the loggers. A terrier named Chainsaw, however, apparently isn't fond of Charlie, and after a few incidents, Jess realizes he needs to cage the cougar.
Breaking free one night, Charlie learns to fend for himself until one day, while being pursued by a pack of wild dogs, he finds his way back to the logging camp. The loggers, at first happy to see him, soon realize that Charlie is no longer a "pet," and Jess is forced to release Charlie back into the wild. All ends well though, as Charlie soon finds a mate and starts his own family.
