The Rescuers (1977) Movie Description:
The voices of Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor, John McIntire, Geraldine Page, Joe Flynn and Pat Buttram highlight the 1977 animated comedy, The Rescuers. This Walt Disney Productions release relates the story of an organization similar to the U.N. called the Rescue Aid Society. The difference is, this organization is staffed by mice.
A kidnapped orphan's "Help!" note, via the proverbial message in a bottle, is discovered in New York harbor by the Rescue Aid Society. The case is then undertaken by Miss Bianca (Gabor), who inexplicably selects Bernard (Newhart), a stammering, reluctant janitor, as her partner. After some coercing, Bernard agrees.
Through their investigation, the unlikely pair track the kidnapper's trail and, with the help of an albatross and a dragonfly, discover the orphan is hidden at a pirate's cove in the bayou.
Pet alligators, the world's largest diamond, and a "Swampmobile" all factor into the equation in this amusing and fast-paced adventure.
