Monkeys Go Home (1967) Movie Description:

Inheriting an olive plantation in France from a deceased uncle then having to learn the harsh realities of finding and keeping skilled workers leads Dean Jones to employ monkeys as laborers in Walt Disney Productions 1967 film, Monkeys, Go Home!

With his payroll drastically slashed (the chimps work for bananas), the plan appears to be working until a few "hiccups" occur: First, workers at rival olive groves aren't happy with the unorthodox situation, and secondly, it's discovered that the four original monkeys are female, and when a male chimp is added to the work force, the work suffers.

Monkeys, Go Home! co-stars Yvette Mimieux and in his final film appearance, legendary French actor-singer Maurice Chevalier.

Directed by Andrew V. McLaglen, who also directed such Hollywood classics as McClintock!, Shenandoah, The Undefeated and Cahill, U.S. Marshall, as well as early television productions as Perry Mason, Have Gun - Will Travel and Gunsmoke.
